Dear Racers, Racing Industry Leaders, Sanctioning Bodies,
Race Tracks, Promoters, and all Media…
Let’s take a moment to reflect on how much the world has changed in the past 35 years. It was around 1990 that NASCAR and other sanctioning bodies made Tire Treating "illegal." First let me say, we recognize that this was a sensible decision at the time, given the backyard technology and safety concerns of that era.
Now is the time to consider how far technology has come—and how we can harness these advancements to improve safety, performance, and fairness for all racers. Our mission is to support the heart of racing—the mom-and-pop teams, weekend warriors, and family racers—who often lack the resources to purchase new tires every week. We believe innovative tire technology can help level the playing field and empower these teams to stay competitive, safe, and successful.
I’m reaching out on behalf of Magellan International Lubrication & Chemical Technologies, LLC, creators of the Grip Bite Tire Conditioning systems under the DAYTONA1 brand. We want to "CHALLENGE" everyone to open their eyes and minds and not be afraid to have an open conversation about this subject.
The Evolution of Tire Technology
We have made significant strides in performance and safety. For decades, tire treatment has been restricted in racing due to concerns from sanctioning bodies like NASCAR, using reasoning primarily focused on safety, fair competition, and environmental impacts. While these rules were essential in the past, technology has made significant strides since the 1990s and these issues are no longer relevant. Everyone needs to open their eyes and minds, and not be afraid, for the betterment of our sport.

This isn't just about innovation—it's about making racing fairer, more affordable, and sustainable for the everyday racer. Plus, all testing can be regulated and performed at the track the day of the race...no more tire sampling and sending out to a lab... results of the race are immediate.
